Update: Snow squall warning lifted for London region

Update: Environment Canada lifted the snow squall warning for the London area on Thursday morning.

-

London is in line to get its first significant snowfall of the year Wednesday night.

Environment Canada has upgraded a snow squall watch to a warning for London, Parkhill, and eastern Middesex County. According to the national weather agency, a heavy snow squall that developed off Lake Huron will move southward and stall near London Wednesday evening, dumping up to 15cm of snow before it tapers off Thursday.

A snow squall watch has also been issued for St. Thomas, Aylmer, Elgin County, and eastern Lambton County.

Reduced visibility due to the heavy snow squalls will make driving hazardous.

Snow squall warnings are issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
