London man charged in child pornography bust

A tip from a national agency helped London police nab a 44-year-old man suspected of accessing child pornography online.

The U.S. National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, through the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre and the St. Thomas Police Service, contacted police in London about a man viewing child pornography over the internet on November 28.

That information led police to search a home on Noel Avenue and arrest a man on Thursday.

Chris Herbert McCaw, 44, of London is charged with unlawfully possessing child pornography, importing, selling and distributing child pornography, and printing, publishing, and possessing child pornography.

He was scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Thursday.

“This investigation is another demonstration of how the London Police Service partners with multiple agencies as part of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation to keep children within our community and around the world safe,” said Det. Sgt Glenn Hadley.
