No foul play suspected after body found in submerged vehicle

Foul play is not suspected after a vehicle with a man's body inside was discovered in the water in Port Bruce.

Emergency crews were called after the vehicle was discovered by a Malahide Works employee partially submerged in Catfish Creek around 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday. The lone male inside the vehicle was found deceased. He has been identified as 66-year-old Gary Scrivens of Port Bruce.

"A death investigation ensued and no foul play is suspected," said Elgin OPP.

By mid-morning, the Malahide Fire Service and police had removed the vehicle from the water.

It is not known how long the vehicle was submerged in the water.
