Sudbury Five strike down Lightning

The London Lightning fell 112-107 to the Sudbury Five in NBLC action on Thursday.

The Lightning trailed the Five by four points at the end of the first quarter and Sudbury gained more of an advantage in the second to make it 59-51 heading into halftime. The Five continued to lead by seven points at the end of the third, but London fought back to make it a one-point game at 98-97 for the Five with just over six minutes left to play.  The Lightning weren't able to surpass Sudbury, however, and fell with a five-point deficit.

Kevin Ware Jr. led London with 18 points and two rebounds, while Anthony "AJ" Gaines Jr. had 17 points and three rebounds.  Maurice Bolden also put up 16 points and had nine rebounds.

The Lightning will travel to Nova Scotia next to take on the Cape Breton Highlanders on Sunday. Tip-off is at 1 p.m.
