Frost advisory in effect

Residents in parts of Southwestern Ontario can expect a chill in the air once the sun goes down.

Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for Elgin County, Chatham-Kent, Leamington, and Windsor-Essex. Temperatures are expected to dip to near or below the freezing mark both Tuesday and Wednesday night, which will cause frost to form.

Despite the cold temperatures at night, daytime highs range from 9 C to 12 C for the next few days.

Depending on the area, frost may damage crops or plants. Residents are advised to cover outdoor plants as a preventative measure.
