Knights double up Sting 4-2

The London Knights used their scorers to dominate in Sarnia Sunday afternoon.

The Knights scored three straight goals on their way to a 4-2 win over the Sting at Progressive Auto Sales Arena. The win puts London in a tie for second place with 13 points in the OHL Midwest Division, pending the outcome of the Guelph-Kitchener contest. The Sting are in fourth place in the West Division with nine points.

It did not take long, though, for Sarnia to fire the first shot. Mitch Eliot scored his second goal of the season at 31 seconds into the opening period. Dalton Duhart tied the game for London on the power play at 6:55. The two teams then exchanged a goal each before the first intermission. Hugo Leufvenius' goal was the go-ahead score for the Sting, but Cole Tymkin responded and helped send the teams to their locker rooms in a 2-2 tie.

The Knights took the lead for good in the second period on a Josh Nelson goal. Billy Moskal sealed the win with a goal late in the third, his third of the year.

Joseph Raaymakers faced 38 shots in goal for London and stopped 36 of them. Aidan Hughes and Ethan Langevin combined for 18 saves in 22 tries in net for Sarnia.

London travels to the Capital Region Friday night for a date with the Ottawa 67s. The Sting are also in action Friday, concluding their five-game homestand by hosting the Flint Firebirds.
