A 28-year-old London man has been charged with over half a dozen offences after a weekend shooting that left one person with minor injuries.
London police were called after shots rang out on Trafalgar Street, near Rectory Street around 5:50 p.m. on Saturday. When officers arrived they found signs of a fight. A man suffering from a gunshot wound was found with a woman in a nearby vehicle. The man was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.
Investigators determined a fight between two men escalated with one pulling out a gun and firing it several times. One of the shots hit the other man causing minor injuries.
The wounded man and the woman, along with two other men, were initially taken into police custody. Two of the men and a woman were later released without charges.
Justin Ronald Ralph of London is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of pointing a firearm, one count each of using a firearm while committing an indictable offence, and possession of a prohibited firearm.
He is scheduled to appear in London court on Monday.
The Trafalgar Street incident was the second shooting in London in just three days. Last Thursday, a man suffered minor injuries in a shooting at a three-storey walk-up at 135 Connaught Ave. Two men have been charged in relation to that incident.
