Anova picks new leader

The woman selected to take over the reins of Anova is no stranger to non-profit work.

Jessie Rodger was named Friday as the new executive director of the London agency that offers support and shelter to victims of sexual violence and abuse. She will replace Kate Wiggins, who is set to retire from the position at the end of December.

"We are exceptionally pleased the Jessie will take on this leadership role," said Anova Board Chairperson Shannon Wilson. "Her broad knowledge of issues that impact our community, coupled with her bold, thoughtful leadership style and experience with social justice and service agencies, make Jessie well positioned to lead our work toward a future without violence."

Rodger has served as the executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area since 2016. Prior to that she held various other roles within the organization.

"I am honoured to join the team at Anova and continue the important and critical work that Kate has championed and led for the last 16 years," said Rodger. "I look forward to being part of an innovative, thoughtful, and passionate organization leading to end gender-based violence in our community."

Anova began its search for a new executive director in early July, when Wiggins made her plans to retire public.
