UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Warnings, Watches End

The region experienced some wild weather Monday.

Severe thunderstorm watches for Chatham-Kent, London-Middlesex, Strathroy, Oxford, Elgin, and Windsor-Essex were allowed to expire around 9:45pm.

Forecasters tracked storms capable of bringing heavy rain, high winds and nickel-sized hail.

Environment Canada said conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.

A previous round of storms moved through Windsor-Essex around 3:30pm Monday, dumping rain and blowing over trees. A funnel cloud was reported near Amherstburg, and another near Dutton in Elgin County, though there have been no reports of touchdowns.

Another line of storms moved through the region beginning around 8:30pm Monday, bringing with it more heavy downpours. The most recent thunderstorm warnings for the region ended around 9:30pm.
