Construction To Snarl Four Intersections

Running errands in London could be more time consuming this weekend as four main intersections close for road repairs.

As of Friday, Egerton St. at Florence St. is shut down for sewer work. Drivers heading east on Florence will be able to turn right onto Egerton, while those traveling north on Egerton can turn left onto Florence. Egerton north of Florence will remain closed. Work should be wrapped up by Monday morning.

Construction of sewers and watermains in Lambeth have the intersection of Colonel Talbot Rd. and Main St. closed. Pedestrians will still be able to cross, but motorists will have to follow the electronic advisory signs for detours. Crews will work around the clock to complete the work by Monday night.

Beginning Saturday at 6am, Adelaide St. N at Oxford St. will be a major slow down for drivers as Bell Canada makes maintenance hole cover repairs. There will be no left-hand turns in any direction during the work, which is expected to last until September. Those travelling westbound from Oxford onto Adelaide will not be able to turn right.

An hour after those repairs begin, Exeter Rd. at Wonderland Rd. will be closed for sewer installation. Drivers heading east and west will be detoured onto White Oak Rd. and Wharncliffe Rd. S. North and southbound traffic will be able to get through. The intersection will reopen at 7am Sunday.

A section of Gore Rd. between River Rd. and Marconi Gate closed for a week on Friday morning to allow CN to complete asphalt repairs around the crossing. Detour signs are in place to direct drivers and cyclist around the closure.
