Two-hour school bus delays because of thick fog are about to become a thing of the past in the London region.
As of September, Southwestern Ontario Student Transportation Services will eliminate the two-hour fog delay. In the event of foggy conditions, morning bus service will now be cancelled entirely. Unless otherwise notified, buses would return to their normal schedule in the afternoon, picking up students who made it to school despite the weather conditions.
Any cancellations due to inclement weather will be posted online by 6:30am on www.mybigyellowbus.ca.
The transportation association represents those in the Thames Valley District School Board and the London District Catholic School Board.
The policy change was announced Monday.
