A 23-year-old man is charged with aggravated assault after a video surfaced online of a bouncer punching a man in the face outside of a downtown London bar.
The London Police Service says on early Monday morning, officers were called to Molly Blooms Irish Pub on Richmond St. after a man was punched while being escorted out of the bar by security for causing a disturbance. The man was taken to hospital as a result, but at the time, he did not want officers to conduct an investigation.
However, after seeing a video of the incident on Wednesday, the victim of the punch asked police to pursue charges.
The video, which was posted online this week, shows one of the bouncers strike a man in the face during a scuffle outside of the bar, sending the man backwards onto the pavement.
On Thursday night, London police told BlackburnNewsLondon.com that an arrest warrant had been issued for a 23-year-old man on a charge of aggravated assault. Police said Friday that the subject of the warrant has turned himself in. Daniel Ryan Taylor of Southwold is charged with aggravated assault in connection with the altercation depicted in the video. He has been released from custody and is to appear in court May 31.
