Lightning Tame River Lions 124-98 In Game 2

Garrett Williamson scored 26 points as the London Lightning beat the Niagara River Lions 124-98 Saturday night at Budweiser Gardens.

The Lightning take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five NBLC Central Division semifinals series. They can go for the sweep Tuesday night.

The River Lions appeared at first to shake off the Game 1 loss by taking a 33-26 lead in the first quarter of Game 2. They still held a 47-44 lead over the Lightning at halftime. London made the adjustments in the locker room and came out to dominate the third quarter, keeping the pressure on Niagara through the home stretch.

Royce White added 24 points to the London total, and led in rebounds with eight. Mo Bolden put in an additional 19 points.

Jaylon Tate led the River Lions with 25 points. Guillaume Boucard contributed 22 points, while Samuel Muldrow, Devonta Pollard and Dwayne Smith each sank ten. Boucard led Niagara on defence with 11 boards for a double-double.

Tip off for Game 3 is 7pm at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines.
