Lightning Edged at St. John's 110-108

The London Lightning was unable to complete a late-game swing in St. John's Saturday night.

The Lightning had a huge third quarter against the St. John's Edge but they could not close the deal, losing 110-108 at the Mile One Centre.

St. John's takes control of first place in the NBLC Central Division with the Lightning right behind. London has lost three in a row.

The Edge was in control throughout the first half of the contest, with a 58-45 lead over the Lightning at halftime. However, the Lightning struck back in the third quarter, outscoring St. John's 41-20 and taking an 86-78 lead after three periods. London dropped the fourth quarter by ten points and the game.

Doug Herring Jr. led the Lightning with 27 points. Ryan Anderson put in 25 points and Royce White added 17. Mo Bolden led the defensive effort for London with nine rebounds.

Alex Johnson's 19 points led the Edge in scoring. Ryan Reid, Carl English, Charles Hinkle and Xavier Ford all added 16 points each. Ford and Grandy Glaze led St. John's on defence with nine boards apiece.

The Lightning have another crack at the Edge Sunday afternoon.
