Kiss Drummer, Twisted Sister Frontman Head Rock Weekend

Rock stars Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and Peter Criss of Kiss will headline a new celebratory rock music weekend in London this spring.

Rock n' Con announced Monday that the Twisted Sister frontman and Kiss drummer will be the featured guests at the first music event of its kind at London Music Hall June 9 and 10. Using the same formula as Comic Con, this event is part record collectors show and part music convention, combined with intimate concerts and opportunities to rub shoulders with real rock stars.

Andrew Kitt and Jacob Windatt, the men behind the very successful London Comic Con, teamed up with London Music Hall owner Mike Manuel to create Rock n' Con.

"Music culture is a huge part of our lives and other than attending a concert there are few opportunities available to fans to share in their enjoyment of rock 'n' roll. So we came up with Rock 'n' Con to provide an opportunity for fans to come together and celebrate everything that they love about the rock music culture," said Kitt.

Rock n' Con will allow fans to shop for collectables and band merchandise, attend panel discussions with industry insiders, and get instrument demonstrations and technique lessons. Snider and other yet to be named musicians will perform Saturday night at an "after party" in the Rum Runners room at London Music Hall.

"With only 300 ticket packages available that include access to the after party, it is sure to sell out quickly. Rock fans do not get opportunities to witness rock stars of this calibre perform in such a small venue, fans are going to feel like they are right on stage with Dee, it's is going to be awesome," said Kitt.

For Criss, this will be his first visit to Canada in 25 years. The Kiss co-founder and original drummer will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.

"Peter is an icon in the music world and I can assure you that Kiss fans will be travelling from all across the country for this once in a lifetime opportunity," said Kitt.

Tickets for Rock n' Con go on sale this Friday, starting at $25 for a day pass. VIP concert packages, which are limited in quantity, will only be available online. More information on the event can be found at www.rockncon.com.
