UPDATED: Extreme Cold Warning Ended For Oxford County

Environment Canada has ended the extreme cold warning for Oxford County area.

The warning was issued Sunday afternoon for Oxford County, Woodstock, Tillsonburg, County of Brant, and Brantford.

According to the weather agency, very cold wind chills are expected as a fresh surge of Arctic air sweeps through the province. The cold air could bring the windchill down to as low as minus 30c Sunday night.

Meteorologists say these cold conditions could last until Tuesday.

Environment Canada warns that this extreme cold puts everyone at risk, especially the elderly and pets.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures pose health risks, such as frost bite and hypothermia.

This warning will be monitored and updated as necessary.
