Knights Frozen by IceDogs 4-2

Robert Thomas had a goal and an assist, but the London Knights were frozen by the Niagara IceDogs.

Niagara scored three unanswered goals on its way to a 4-2 victory over London Thursday night at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines.

The Knights remain in fourth place in the OHL Midwest Division standings with 28 points.

Thomas' goal opened the scoring at 5:03 in the first period. However, Niagara tied the game and took the lead before the first intermission. Johnny Corneil had the equalizer at 10:41, then Akil Thomas gave the Dogs the lead on a power-play goal.

Niagara extended its lead to 3-1 when Oliver Castleman scored  43 seconds into the second period. Joseph Raaymakers was pulled from goal for London and replaced by Jordan Kooy.

The Knights got a goal back in the third period when Max Jones scored his 15th of the season, but the IceDogs sealed the win with an empty-net goal from Kirill Maksimov.

Stephen Dhillon got the win in goal for the IceDogs with 30 saves out of 32 shots. Raaymakers and Kooy combined for just 14 saves out of 17 shots in goal for the Knights.

London returns home Friday night to host the Peterborough Petes.
