Mitt And Ann Romney Coming To Western

A former candidate for president and his wife will be coming to London this fall.

Western University announced Wednesday that Mitt and Ann Romney will attend this November's Leaders In Innovation Dinner. The dinner, scheduled for November 15, will celebrate research excellence in the field of Multiple Sclerosis.

“We are very pleased to welcome Ann and Mitt Romney to London, Ontario,” said Marlys Koschinsky, executive and scientific director at Robarts. “Their involvement in this year’s Leaders in Innovation Dinner will bring valuable perspectives to the importance of multiple sclerosis research and raising awareness of this disease.”

Ann Romney was diagnosed with MS in 1998. Since then, she has worked to raise awareness of the condition. She has also raised money for advocacy and research. In 2016, the couple launched the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

According to a news release from Western University, the visit will include a discussion about the couple's lives, careers, and the experiences they have had with Ann's MS.

The Leaders in Innovation Dinner will be held at the London Convention Centre.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.robarts.ca/leaders-innovation.
