SUV Hits Tree At London Gas Station

London police are investigating after an SUV crashed into a tree at a south-end gas station Wednesday.

The white SUV was in the parking lot of the Petro Canada on Wellington Rd. and Exeter Rd. around 1pm when it veered out of control hitting a tree. The crash left the vehicle angled against the tree with its front wheels suspended in the air.

The woman driving and her teenage daughter were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

"At this point the investigation is on-going. An officer is at the hospital taking statements from the driver. There is extensive front-end damage to the vehicle," said Constable Kim Flett.

The sight of the vehicle, just steps from Exeter Rd., caught the attention of passing motorists causing a few traffic slow downs.

It is unclear whether charges will be laid.
