Cyclist Hospitalized After Being Struck By Vehicle

A man has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bike in London.

The London Police Service says on Tuesday around 3:30pm, the 29-year-old male cyclist was struck in the area of Hamilton Rd. between Rectory St. and Mamelon St., and was taken to hospital to be treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say officers have identified the driver of the vehicle.

Police closed Hamilton Rd. between Rectory St. and Mamelon St. for over two hours to allow officers to conduct an investigation. The road has since been reopened.

Another pedestrian was also struck by a vehicle earlier on Tuesday, as the person was walking across Oxford St., just east of Richmond St.  The unidentified pedestrian was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
