Tractor Crash Leaves One Dead

A Mount Brydges man is dead after becoming pinned under a tractor west of London.

Strathroy-Caradoc police say a tractor was heading south on Cooks Rd. between Longwoods Rd. and Reily Dr. around 4:30pm on Tuesday, when the farm vehicle veered off the roadway. The tractor went into the west ditch, rolled over, and pinneded the 64-year-old man who had been driving it.

Ken Carruthers later died from his injuries. His funeral will be held Friday at 2pm at Elliott-Madill Funeral Home in Mount Brydges.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

This is the second fatal crash involving a tractor in the London region this year. A 21-year-old man was killed last month when the tractor he was operating was rear-ended by a pickup truck on Hwy. 6 in Woodhouse in Norfolk County.
