Police Investigate Bomb Threat At Jewish Community Centre

For the second time in five weeks, London police are investigating a bomb threat at the London Jewish Community Centre.

Just after 10am Tuesday, police were called to the centre on Huron St. Officers evacuated the building and searched inside and outside.

No bomb was found and everyone was allowed to go back inside.

The centre was also the target of a bomb threat on January 31, the same day 14 other similar threats were made to Jewish community centres across the United States.

Constable Matthew Dawson of London police said it is concerning.

"Obviously, it's something we're taking very seriously," he said. "It's not the only threat that was made today. There was one in Toronto and there were a number of them in the States."

Dawson said police are investigating and are asking anyone with any information to contact them at (519) 661-5670. Tips can also be called in to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or sent in online to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
