Knights Outrun the Storm 4-1

Cliff Pu scored twice and J.J. Piccinich and Janne Kuokkanen got two assists each as the London Knights beat the Guelph Storm 4-1 Saturday night before an announced crowd of 9,036 at Budweiser Gardens.

With the win, the Knights maintain their second place standing in the OHL's Midwest Division, just four points behind the leading Erie Otters.  The Storm are in last place in the division with 17 points.

Guelph did make the first score in the game, as Albert Michnac scored his eighth goal of the year on the power-play.  But, that would be all the scoring the Storm could muster.  Pu's first goal came toward the end of the period so it was a 1-1 tie at first intermission.

London would score two goals in the second half.  Liam Foudy got his first lamplighter of the season at 1:08 into the second period.  Alex Formenton would connect at 16:38 for a 3-0 Knights lead.

Pu would put an exclamation point on the Knights' night with his second goal of the game, at 16:52 in the third.

Jordan Kooy would stop all but one of Guelph's 33 shots for the win.

The Knights head to Kitchener to face the Rangers on Tuesday.  Guelph is off till Friday when they host Mississauga.
