It may not be hot enough for shorts and sandals, but October is shaping up to be warmer than normal.
Environment Canada says the above seasonal temperatures that began in August and lasted through September should continue into this month.
"Much of the rest of this work week looks on the warm side, with daytime highs around 23 C or 24 C. That's much above the normal high for this time of year which is 17 C," says Geoff Coulson, meteorologist with Environment Canada. "We'll see more seasonal temperatures for the middle part of the month and then some indications temperatures will bounce back up again towards the end of the month."
Coulson says by the end of October daytime highs will sit around 12 C with more rainy days than Londoners are used to.
"Most parts of southern Ontario came in a little bit drier than normal in September," says Coulson. "As we get further in October there will be more chance of on and off shower activity."
A 60% chance of rain is forecasted for Friday, but it won't be enough to put a damper on the Thanksgiving long weekend.
"The way things are shaping up right now, we are going to see a fair amount of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday. But there could be a little bit of shower activity coming inland from Lake Huron that could effect the London area and parts of Middlesex County. Holiday Monday is shaping up to be a pretty nice day," says Coulson.
