Collision Involving Ambulance Sends Two To Hospital

Two people have been taken to hospital after an ambulance was struck by another vehicle in London.

The London Police Service says on Saturday around 12:23pm, the ambulance was headed north on Richmond St. and attempted to make a turn onto Fanshawe Park Rd., when it was struck by a southbound Toyota car.

The ambulance was on the way to an emergency call, and there were no patients in the back of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The driver of the car, a 62-year-old London man, as well as a female paramedic, who was a passenger in the ambulance, were both taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say charges are pending against the driver of the Toyota.
