Two big names in Canadian music will Rock The Festhalle at this fall's Oktoberfest at the Western Fair District.
It was announced Tuesday morning that Tom Cochrane and Red Rider, with special guest Big Sugar, will perform at the Metroland Media Agriplex on Thursday, October 13.
The show, presented by Classic Rock Free 98.1, will begin at 8pm when Big Sugar take the stage. Tom Cochrane and Red Rider will play at 10:30pm.
“Western Fair District is thrilled to once again bring Rock the Festhalle to our Oktoberfest celebrations in partnership with Classic Rock FREE 98.1," says Kris Dinel, the Western Fair District's Director of Business Development and Government Relations. "Welcoming two great Canadian acts to our stage will add to the energy that Oktoberfest is known for. We look forward to entertaining Londoners with an unforgettable Oktoberfest experience alongside Tom Cochrane with Red Rider and Big Sugar this October.”
It’s a general admission concert, with seating in both the Metroland Media Agriplex stands and on the floor. There will be tables on the arena floor, which will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
Cochrane, best known for hits like "Life Is A Highway" and "Boy Inside The Man", is a multiple Juno award winner and member of the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame. He was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 1993 for "Life Is A Highway."
Big Sugar have forged a solid career as well, with Canadian rock radio hits like "If I Had My Way" and "The Scene."
Oktoberfest at the Western Fair District will be held October 7 and 8, and October 13-15.
