Police Investigating After Man Found Dead

London police have launched an investigation after a man was found dead in the Pond Mills area.

At 6:37am on Wednesday, police were called to an apartment building at 1 Frontenac Rd. after a 55-year-old man was found not breathing. Police say they arrived to find a man dead at the scene.

"The investigation is being continued by detectives with the Major Crime Section who will follow up," says Staff Sergeant Trish McIntyre. "Our coroner has been to the scene, the body has been removed, and there is an autopsy scheduled for 1pm. We will continue our preliminary investigation pending the results of that."

While the unidentified man's body was found behind the apartment building, foul play is not suspected.

"There is nothing to suspect that it is suspicious," says McIntyre. "Because of it being an outdoor scene we take extra precaution to identify why that was and why he is outside."

Police have canvassed residents of the building and a neighbouring one. They anticipate they will remain on scene for the remainder of the day.
