BluesFest Announces Full Line Up

A mix of international, national, and local blues musicians round out the three-day schedule for London BluesFest.

Officials with the festival announced the full line up on Wednesday for next month's bash in Victoria Park.

Headline acts include the Downchild Blues Band, Devon Allman, Sass Jordan, Rare Earth, M2M featuring the Lincolns, and Scott Holt. Many big Canadian blues acts have also been tapped for the festival including Big Rude Jake, Bill Durst, Robin Banks, Wild-T & The Spirit, and Juno Award Winners Steve Strongman and Jack Dekeyser.

Among the local entertainers who will perform are Denise Pelley, Sara Smith, Soul Sausage, The Chris Murphy Band, Rob Sharp & Lit'l Chicago, Paul Langille, Doug Varty, and the Chris Trowel Band.

“The London Blues Fest has put together a solid line up of national headliners and also showcases many of London’s great blues artists,” says Chris Campbell, director of culture and entertainment tourism at Tourism London. “We are confident this will attract thousands of blues fans to London for the start of a new signature music attraction.”

BluesFest will feature four stages in the park, including the Free 98.1 stage. There will also be two licensed areas and hours of free blues entertainment. Music in the park will end at 11pm each night, but will continue until 2am at several downtown bars in what’s being called the “Eight Bar Blues Walkabout."

The festival runs August 26, 27, and 28 and is in support of Spinal Cord Research at Parkwood Hospital.
