Man Charged In Pride Flag Vandalism

Days after a pride flag was vandalized and tossed in the trash in Ingersoll, Oxford OPP have made an arrest.

The flag, which was put up to honour the victims of the Orlando shooting and to commemorate Pride Month, was stolen Monday afternoon from a park at the corner of Thames St. and Charles St. The flag was later found damaged in a nearby garbage can.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the incident on Thursday.

Michael Turner of Ingersoll is charged with mischief under $5,000.

Police are thanking the public for its help in regards to this investigation.
