Two Dogs Die In House Fire

Fire officials are investigating after two dogs perished in a blaze at a London home.

The London Fire Department says on Friday around 4:45pm, firefighters were called to an apartment within the home located at 136 Mill St.  Fire officials say the blaze originated in the kitchen and no one was home at the time.

Fire crews were able to save three pet cats from the apartment, but two dogs died from injuries sustained in the fire.

A fire investigator has attended the home to try to determine the cause of the blaze. Damage is estimated at around $75,000.

Mill St. was closed for around two hours while fire crews were at the scene.
