Line Of Severe Thunderstorms London Bound

UPDATE: Environment Canada has lifted its special weather statement for the London area.

Severe thunderstorms, hail, and torrential rain are possible Saturday.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for London, Parkhill, Strathroy, Komoka and Middlesex County as a line of severe thunderstorms barrel towards the area.

The weather agency says the storms are moving rapidly eastward from Wisconsin. They are expected to cross southern Ontario overnight and early Saturday morning.

With the storms comes a potential for strong wind gusts, frequent lightning, hail, and torrential downpours.

Environment Canada could issue watches and warnings as the system moves closer. At this point it is uncertain how strong or widespread these storms will be when they reach the region.
