A truck driver was taken to hospital after a crash that forced the closure of the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 401 west of London.
Elgin OPP say the driver lost control of the rig in the eastbound lanes just east of Union Rd. around 11:30pm Tuesday. The truck hit the guardrail, destroying it and causing damage to the tractor trailer, as well as a fuel spill.
Police closed the eastbound lanes of the highway for a few hours while they investigated. The driver of the truck suffered non-life threatening injuries.
One eastbound lane will be closed until sometime Thursday as crews clean up the fuel and replace the guardrail.
