Knights Trade For Rights To Milano

He may never play another game in the OHL. But if he does, Sonny Milano will wear the jersey of the London Knights.

The team acquired the OHL rights to the Columbus Blue Jackets prospect in a trade with the Flint Firebirds that was announced on Thursday. In exhange for the rights to Milano, the Knights gave up a conditional 15th round pick in the 2016 OHL draft.

If Milano, who currently plays for the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL, does play a game for the Knights in either the regular season or playoffs the conditional pick will turn into Sudbury’s 2nd round pick in 2019 and North Bay’s 4th round pick in 2016.

Milano just returned from the World Junior Hockey Championship, where he played for the bronze medal winning American team. The Massapequa, NY native was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the first round of the 2014 draft.
