Police Remind Drivers Of New Rules

The new year has brought in some new rules of the road for drivers.

London police are reminding motorists of the new legislation which took effect January 1. It requires all drivers to yield until pedestrians within crossovers have made it across all lanes of traffic and are no longer on the road.

The new legislation also applies at intersections where a crossing guard is present.

London has crossovers on the Western University and Fanshawe College campuses.

Police are also advising those behind the wheel to make sure they're leaving a safe amount of space for school buses in winter weather.

Police say drivers should lower their speed and increase separation distance when they encounter a school bus. Snow tires are also recommended.
