Six Children Involved In Off-Road Vehicle Collision Near Clinton

Two children were hurt in an off-road vehicle crash west of Clinton on Monday morning.

Huron County OPP say it happened around 10:30am at a private residence on Maitland Line.

Six children, ranging from the ages of 3 to 13, were on the machine at the time.

Police say a 12-year-old girl from Rothesay, New Brunswick was operating a Polaris Ranger Utility Terrain Vehicle when she lost control of the machine and it flipped onto its side.

The driver wasn't hurt but a 9-year old, also from Rothesay was airlifted to hospital in London with non-life threatening injuries and a 13-year-old girl from Central Huron was sent to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Three boys ranging from three to 10 years of age were sitting in the back cargo bed and were thrown from the vehicle when it overturned but were not hurt.

None of the children were wearing helmets or any other safety gear.

The adults at the property were unaware the children were operating the machine.
