Majors Swept In Doubleheader

The Barrie Baycats swept the London Majors in a day-night doubleheader on Sunday.

In Game 1, Barrie third baseman Kevin Atkinson drove in a pair of runs to give the Baycats a 5-2 win.

Cleveland Brownlee scored a two-run home run in the sixth inning for the Majors, while pitcher Cory Hammond took the loss, giving up five runs on eight hits over 3.2 innings.

Game 2 saw the Baycats shutout London 1-0.

Baycats second baseman Tyler Fata drove in the lone run with a sacrifice fly in the second inning.

London centre-fielder Chris McQueen and catcher Larry Gonzalez each had two hits in the loss.

The Majors are now 12-11 in the season and will take on the Kitchener Panthers on Tuesday. First pitch is at 7:30pm.
