Jeremy Cook's Funeral Set For Monday

The 18-year-old Brampton man who was shot and killed while trying to retrieve his cell phone in northeast London last weekend, will be laid to rest Monday.

Jeremy Cook’s funeral will take place at 10am in Brampton.

Meanwhile, the London Police Service continue to search for two suspects in connection with the deadly shooting that took place on June 14 near the intersection of Highbury Ave. N and Huron St.

On Friday, a warrant was issued for Muhab Sultanaly Sultan, 23, of Calgary for second-degree murder in Cook’s death. Police are asking the public not to approach Sultan and to call 911 if he is seen. A picture of the man can be found at the bottom of this story.

Police are also looking for a second suspect who is described as a black male with very short hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket or shirt, and a fitted hat.

A third individual was also seen by witnesses just prior to the incident. Police are asking this person to contact police.

Investigators say Jeremy Cook left his phone in a taxi cab on June 13 but managed to track it to 1181 Highbury Ave. using an app. He went to that address with a relative at around 5:15am on June 14 and approached a silver 2006 Mazda 6.

While parked at that location, officers say one passenger got out of the car and walked away before the driver tried to leave. The 18-year-old victim partially climbed into the car and held onto the driver’s side door. Police say the car went down Highbury Ave., then turned east before shots were fired.

Officers were called and found Cook dead behind the plaza on the corner of Highbury Ave. and Huron St. They say he had been shot several times.

The Mazda then drove west down Huron St., hitting a fence and hydro pole near Barker St.
