UPDATE: Hwy 401 Reopened

Hwy. 401 has been reopened following a number of collisions near Woodstock and London.

The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police says the westbound lanes of the highway were closed east of Colonel Talbot Rd. after an OPP cruiser was struck by a blue Toyota car. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage.

The police officer remained uninjured while the driver of the Toyota, a 30-year-old woman from London, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police says all three westbound lanes were closed between Sweaburg Rd. and Foldens Line as well due to multiple collisions involving around 30 vehicles. Police say only minor injuries have been reported.

All lanes have since been reopened but police are advising residents to avoid the roads if possible.
