Farmer Shot In The Leg

Police are investigating after a farm worker suffered a gunshot wound to his leg from a stray bullet in Norfolk County.

The Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police say on Saturday around 2:40pm, emergency crews responded to Norfolk County Rd. 21 where the migrant worker had been shot.

Police say the 52-year-old farmer was harvesting crops in a field when he was struck by the stray bullet. The man was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries .

According to police, several people were using rifles for target practice at the time along Concession Rd. 13, just south of County Rd. 21.

The investigation is ongoing and possible charges are pending.
