The provincial government is making money available to deal with infrastructure issues across Ontario.

Premier Kathleen Wynne says two programs will help rural municipalities.

“I’m pleased to launch the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund. This is a permanent $100-million a year infrastructure program specifically for small, rural and northern communities,” says Wynne. “The Small Communities Fund is a fund where Ontario and the federal government will each provide $272-million for critical projects in communities with a population of under 100,000.”

The $100-million will be split into two equal parts, a formula based part that all municipalities will share, the rest will be doled out by application.
