Two Airlifted To Hospital After Serious Crash

Police are investigating after a head-on crash near Mitchell sent five adults and two children to hospital.

Perth County Ontario Provincial Police say on Friday around 5:20pm, officers responded to the crash on Hwy. 23, north of Perth Line 24, after a Chevy Equinox travelling south collided with a Dodge Caravan travelling north.

A male occupant of the Equinox was airlifted from the scene to a London hospital with major injuries. The other two passengers of the Equinox were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

An infant passenger of the Caravan was transported to local hospital, but has since been airlifted to a London hospital. Two adult passengers of the Caravan and a toddler were taken to hospital by ambulance. The occupants of the Caravan are all from London.

Hwy. 23 between Perth Line 26 and Perth Line 20 is expected to remain closed until approximately 11pm while investigators are on scene.
