Shortened Season Among NBL Changes

Entering its fourth season, the National Basketball League of Canada is tweaking a few things.

Each team will play just 32 regular season games instead of 40. Commissioner Paul Riley says the schedule will be “designed to put more focus on each home game as a special event.”

The league is also increasing the minimum requirement of Canadian players from three per team to four, which Riley says demonstrates NBL Canada’s commitment to showcasing home-grown talent.
