Workers at Caesars Windsor will not be hitting the picket lines this weekend.

Unifor Local 444 reached a tentative agreement with Caesars management just after 2am Friday morning, after nearly 40 straight hours of bargaining. That means the casino is also expecting to re-open in the later hours of the morning.

Local union president Dino Chiodo is recommending that the 2,300 casino employees ratify this deal at Tuesday’s vote, because the only other alternative is to go on strike. “So from that perspective, we’ve done some pretty amazing things in the agreement. There are just some things that we weren’t able to achieve and attain, and our members are going to have to make a determination on that front.”

Chiodo refuses to get into the details of the agreement until explaining it to his union members on Tuesday, but does say it includes wage and benefit increases.
