Passengers Stop Bus After Driver Has Seizure

A couple of quick thinking passengers helped prevent a potential collision when a Woodstock bus driver suffered a seizure.

Woodstock police say around 1:40pm on Saturday, a 60-year-old Woodstock Transit driver was heading north on Huron St. toward Devonshire Ave. with 10 passengers on board when she had a seizure.

Two passengers, one 74 and the other 24, sprung into action and got the driver out of the driver's seat and onto the floor. One of the passengers took the wheel and brought the bus to a stop while the other tended to the driver.

Police responded and opened the locked bus doors. The driver was unconscious but breathing. She was taken to hospital and was expected to make a full recovery.
