Puppy Left In Bathroom While Owners Vacationed

Two Londoners won't be able to own animals for ten years, after admitting they left their dog in a bathroom while they were on vacation.

The London Humane Society says it responded to a neglected dog report in January.

Officers searched an apartment on Belmont Dr. and found the dog, a 12-week-old Chihuahua mix, locked in the bathroom.

The Humane Society says the owners put the dog in the bathroom before leaving on a two-week vacation.

Water was left for the dog, but it soon evaporated.

Gabrielle Penney, 20, and Kyle O'Neill, 26, pleaded guilty to causing/permitting distress, failing to provide necessary care, and failing to provide appropriate sanitary conditions.

Both were sentenced to six months probation, $400 in restitution to be paid to the London Humane Society, and a ten year animal prohibition.

The puppy has since been adopted.
