Sports Hall-of-Famer Aldridge Dies At 90

Former London Major and London Sports Hall of Fame inductee Norm Aldridge has died.

The namesake of Norm Aldridge Field at Stronach Park in northeast London was 90 and had been ill for some time.

Aldridge joined the Royal Canadian Navy at HMCS Prevost in London at age 17. He served from 1941 through the end of the war in 1945, joining the London Majors upon his return home. He played with the Majors, the Lou Ball Juniors, the London TV-Cable Fastball Team, racking up regional, provincial and national championships.

Norm's uniform, #3, was retired by the London Majors Baseball Club.
