Inside Worker Negotiations To Resume Sunday

The city and union representing 750 striking inside city workers are heading back to the bargaining table this weekend.

The city contacted the provincial mediator in an effort to resume negotiations, and both sides have agreed to meet on Sunday.

The talks will be under a media blackout, as they have been in the past. In a brief media release, the city said it will not comment on the talks until after Sunday's meeting.

The latest breakdown in talks occurred on Tuesday when the union accused the city of introducing new contract terms regarding temporary and part-time workers. City of London negotiators claimed potentially misleading wording regarding their proposal may have caused the impasse.

Workers have been on the picket lines for 47 days.
