Court Date For Man Accused Of Stabbing Daughter

Andrew Hill, the man accused of repeatedly stabbing his five-year-old daughter, will be in court again tomorrow.

The 38-year-old made a brief video appearance from the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre, dressed head-to-toe in an orange jumpsuit. Tomorrow will the the third court date Hill this month. Earlier in June Hill's lawyer told the judge she needed more time to review the "voluminous disclosure" in the case. He was arrested in May when police were called to his Applegreen Grove home for a report of a five-year-old girl suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. She was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but has since been released. Hill faces one charge of attempted murder in connection to the stabbing. He remains in custody at the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre. It is expected his appearance today will be by video, as most have been in the past. He is banned from speaking to his wife and other children. Neighbours on the quiet cul-de-sac road tell BlackburnNews.com they were shocked to learn of the stabbing. They say the father was rarely seen, but the family seemed happy.
