City-Inside Worker Talks Resume Tuesday

Talks between the City of London and CUPE Local 101 representing inside workers union ended on Friday night with an agreement to resume negotiations on Tuesday.

Friday's bargaining session was the first one held since the strike involving 750 workers began. It's now in week three.

Mayor Matt Brown tells Blackburn News, managers are doing the best they can to keep up with services.

The union has previously said it's unprepared to accept concessions the city wants but Brown says something's got to give.

"I need to be clear. To reach a deal, we'll need to see concessions from the union. We'll need to see compromise. We'll need to see give and take from the city, from both parties. Both parties need to come together and work on a deal that's fair to the employees but also fair to the community."
