Case Put Over For Teacher Facing Child Porn Charges

The former London teacher charged with child pornography and voyeurism has had his case put over to next month.
Jamie Gardiner, 37, was arrested in March after a hidden camera was found inside a change room at Ashley Oaks Public School. His lawyer appeared in court on his behalf and a new court date of June 30 was set.

At first, police said there were two adult victims and Gardiner was charged with two counts of voyeurism. However, after further investigation police revealed there were a total of 20 victims. Of those 20, at least one was under the age of 18 at the time, eight are staff members at the Thames Valley District School Board, seven were adult co-op students. Four others have not been identified.

Gardiner is charged with making child pornography, possessing child pornography and over a dozen counts of voyeurism.

Investigators say the recordings from inside the change room date back to as early as 2011.

The teacher was initially put on “home duties” but was fired in late April after the school board conducted an investigation of its own.

He will appear in court again on June 30.
